Dr Ananda Shankar Jayant was conferred with the title of 'Nritya Choodamani' by Sri Krishna Gana Sabha, Chennai. This award was presented by Sri L Sabaretnam, CEO, India Cements & ICL Sugars, Director, Chennai Petroleum Corporation Ltd on 7th December 2006.

Nritya Choodamani Anita Ratnam, Nritya Choodamani Bharati Sivaji, Convenor, Natya Kala Conference & Sri R Ramachandran, Secretary, Hamsadwani felicitated Ananda. Sri R Yagnaraman Honorary Secretary Sri Krishna Gana Sabha read the citation.
