Ananda receives NRITYA KALASAGARA

Renowned dancer, choreographer, Dr Ananda Shankar Jayant received the prestigious award and title of NRITYA KALASAGARA from Kalasagaram, Secunderabad, on 23rd November 2007, during Kalasagaram's 40th Annual Cultural Festival of Music, Dance and Drama.

Sri Kadiri Gopalnath and Smt A Kanyakumari were also conferred with the title of Sangeetha Kalasagara on the same day.

Ananda, who received the prestigious Padmashri this year is also the recipient of other awards like Kalaimamani, the highest state award of Tamilnadu for arts and the sought after Nritya Choodamani from Sri Krishna Gana Sabha, Chennai - says, " It is indeed a great honour to be have been selected to receive the prestigious Nritya Kalasagara this year from an organization such as Kalasagaram which has been promoting art in Secunderabad over the last four decades".
